My Regimen 2012

Shampoo

Here is my regimen this year. Since I’m a first time mom I’ve tried to simplify it as much as possible. I have included Amazon affiliate links so you can purchase these products if you like.

I had my Prince at the end of 2011. The only shampoo that seem to moisturize and help to keep my hair detangled was SheaMoisture.  Then I was protective styling after the baby for minimize postpartum shredding. Cleansing your natural hair with a sulfate free shampoo is the first step to hydrating and moisturizing dry natural hair.

Hello. I am looking for something to soften the lower half of my hair. I recently switched to As I Am Doublebutter Cream from Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding. My hair feels dry now. Any suggestions?

Have you tried sealing in the moisture with coconut oil before applying your styling product. That always helps to keep my hair moisturized. Also, re-twisting at night with water, jojoba oil and vegetable glycerin.

Make a mix of the jojoba, water, and glycerin? What are the proportions?
Thank you for your suggestions! This site is awesome!

        Hi Nicole,

I measured the proportions just so I could answer your question. I’m the type of person who measures everything by sight.

        Today I measure it out.

        1 cup of water
        2 TBS of Vegetable Glycerin
1/4 TBS of Jojoba or Tea Tree Oil Your preference.

      Andrea,

I’m not sure how to break down my regimen. Specifically, what do you have a question about?

Hi. I’ve been natural for two years cause I’ve been relatively sick and could not tolerate perms. I did the big chop and it was fun short. However, the sides are embarassingly invisible thin! Any suggestions?

I’m new to the site, but I’m so excited to be here. I’ve been natural for 21 months and the journey has been amazing. I have 3a/4ab hair. I’m looking for products that actually work! My hair also has low porosity…..

I use the LOC method on my daughter, but she still has dry scalp. I use water, leave in(Miss Jessie’s Leave In Dis) and olive oil. How often should I use the LOC method and how I can best prevent dry/itchy scalp? Her hair drys out so quickly… I just want her to wear her natural hair without dryness. For everyday moisture I use Cantu Curling Butter

Help AT WITS END MOM HOPING TO NOT PERM MY DAUGHTER HAIR.
    Thank you!
